This is the single most important step. By asking you a series of questions I will establish what you are looking for. My goal is to not waste your time by looking at properties that are not in your price range or homes that don’t meet you needs. Throughout the buying process I will maintain your confidentiality and represent your best interests.
We will use every available method to locate a property that matches your search parameters. This will include properties listed with our office, offered through other real estate companies, as well as unlisted properties. We will disclose all known facts about the property that are likely to affect your decision. When we find the home that meets your criteria, I will assist you in writing an offer and act as a liason between you and the seller.
Needs & Wants
Before starting off your search for your new dream home, it is important to step back and think about what you need and/or want in your new abode. These needs/wants can range from functionality to size and are important to rank in terms of importance. Below are a few questions to get you thinking about what you are looking for. Are we looking for a condo, single family house, or multi-family house?
What style of home are we looking for? (Ranch, Split, Bi-level, Raised Ranch, Colonial, Bungalow, Cape Cod, etc.)
What is our price range?
Have you been pre-approved for a certain amount? If so, are you comfortable with that payment?
How many bedrooms do we need/want?
How many bathrooms do we need/want?
Do we care about a basement?
Do we want central air conditioning?
Do we want the home to be heated by gas or electric? or are we okay with either?
How much of a yard would we like to have, and are able to keep up with?
Is a fence important? Or could we add one at a later time?
Do we need a garage? How many cars would need to be able to fit in the garage?
Would we like the garage attached? or can it be detached from the house?
In terms of driveway, what would we like/need?
Do we want trees on the lot?
Do we want to have a water view?
Do we want to live in a sub-division?
What school district would you like to live in?
Do we want public water, is this important to us?
Do we want public sewer, is this important to us?
